NOV 2021 / Featured Artist: LuAnn T. Palazzo

LuAnn T. Palazzo is an award-winning designer, fine art photographer, and independent curator living on Long Island, NY. Her art is shown in museums and galleries all over the world and above it, aboard the International Space Station. She studied with world-renowned photographer Arthur Leipzig, receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts at LIU Post in Brookville, NY.

Ms. Palazzo considers her work to be a constant pursuit of moments of light, both literal and metaphorical. She says, “I firmly believe that the world around us constantly offers quiet instances of beauty and sheer wonder, and I endeavour to be both mindful enough and quick enough to capture some of them. I am always chasing the light.”

As a curator, she is deeply involved in the international art movement “A Book About Death,” inspired by the father of Mail Art, Ray Johnson. She brought three highly acclaimed ABAD exhibitions to Long Island in the past few years and her opinions have been quoted both by the New York Times and the art critic Jerry Saltz.

Her work is in a number of Permanent Collections including the Art Gallery on board the International Space Station; the Museum of Modern Art, NY; the Smithsonian Institution, Washington DC; the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, CA; the Karuizawa New Art Museum, Japan; and the Museu Brasileiro da Escultura, Brazil. She is also in many private collections around the globe.
